Camden Women Crowned AFL Sydney Division 2 Premiers
The Camden Cats Women’s First Grade have capped off an outstanding 2026 campaign, claiming the AFL Sydney Women’s Division 2 Premiership with an emphatic Grand Final victory over Macquarie University on Sunday.
Camden produced a superb performance on the biggest stage, winning 4.7 (31) to 0.4 (4) and holding Macquarie University goalless to secure a commanding 27-point premiership victory.
The triumph marks the third women’s premiership for the Camden Cats in the past four seasons, continuing a remarkable period of success for the club’s women’s program.
After finishing the home-and-away season on top of the ladder with 15 wins from 16 matches, the Cats carried that form into the finals and delivered when it mattered most.
Grace Stewart was recognised as Best on Ground after an outstanding Grand Final performance, adding another accolade to a season in which she was also crowned the AFL Sydney Women’s Division Two Best & Fairest.
Sunday’s victory was the culmination of a season built on pressure, work rate, development and a commitment to playing for one another.
The premiership adds another chapter to the growth of women’s football at Camden. After the club’s women’s program was re-established in 2017, it has grown into an important and successful part of the Camden Cats.
While 21 players had the opportunity to take the field on Grand Final day, the premiership belongs to the entire squad, every player who pulled on the guernsey during the season, along with the coaches, support staff, volunteers, families and supporters who contributed along the way.
